Just Delovely And Delicious
2002-10-08

sometimes the subway takes you places or shows you things you never expected. sometimes it does both.

last saturday, on the way to a brooklyn bash, my travelling companion and i chose a waiting w train at prince street to whisk us off to our destination. except that the w train doesn't actually go to our destination. after 36th st, we hear the siren song that is "next stop, 9th ave." wait, that's not where we want to go. not at all. however, no big deal. just change direction at the next station.

upon arriving at 9th ave, we were presented with hand-scrawled signage informing us that there were no manhattan bound trains at this station. we would have to go several stops deeper into brooklyn before being able to turn around. much love to the mta.

having decided to cut our losses and call a car, we found ourselves across the street from a retail establishment offering "free delively". i had been wondering exactly what had happened to lady miss kier. it is appears she's running a bodega on 9th ave and 39th st in brooklyn. how do you say deee-lite?
