Cabin Fever
2003-02-18

as i haven't written in what could easily be described as forever, there is soooo much to impart and yet, not much really.

there was the incredible snow day last monday (no, not blizzard of 2003 monday, but the previous monday), where i spent an entire afternoon exploring prospect park while the snow slowly and gently fell from the sky. i'm such a goober that i called several friends and my mom from amidst all that splendour, happy crying. yeah, i know.

there was the crazy v-day week at the chocolate shop that ended yesterday morning with the announcement that they were closing their doors. yes, shutting down. out of business. i liked it there. i'm sad for them. and out of work again. most of all, i will miss our rousing versions of song sung blue. good thing i've been registering with temp agencies left and right.

there was thursday night at siberia with the law crowd. always a good time.

there was the final performance of debbie does dallas that i was invited to last minute on saturday night. if it is at the jane street, it is probably worth a look. i laughed so hard my little tummy hurt. boy, was it cold out that night.

there was picking up karamazov again. last time, i got through 600 pages. then i moved to new york and i set it aside. well, i've picked it up again and have burned through 300 already. i will finish it this time.

there was today, where i'm temping again at hallmark again. in fact, i went to bed last night, fairly certain that i would get a call to come in here. how weird is that?

most recently, there has been a terrible bout of cabin fever, which has made me uncharacteristically paranoid about everything. watching the siege, a late 90's flick about terror attacks on new york city, on sunday sent me into a 30-minute fit of hysterical sobbing. at least, i've got smokes. fortunately, an upswing in temps later this week should ameliorate my mental state.
