Anya Was Right

yesterday left me cranky and pissy with a monster of a headache. the elevators, going up and down, sound as if a twister is ripping through the building. for the longest time, i just thought the structure was poorly insulated, as if there was a blizzard IN the building. the phone, which was quite busy, makes this high-pitched whining sound until you pick it up. not a simple beep, that says, hey answer me, but a constant tone, that says, i know that you won't answer me unless i nag and nag because you are lazy. additionally, i had my fair share of rude folk on the phone, including one woman who asked for someone by first name. when i asked for the someone's last name ( you see, i've got a list by last name), she snapped, "you work there, don't you?" when explained that yes, i was working here, but was a temp, she sneered, "well, then you don't work there, do you?". i had several of these charming students of telephone etiquette throughout the course of my day. oh and then there was the heavy breather and the unintelligible french guy who claimed to go way back with hef and the gang of 10-year-olds who kept calling back looking for head. quaint.
