In The Land Of Diaries, (blank) Reigns Supreme
2002-06-10

Consider me the Ghost of Game Shows Past. Lord of the Board. Spectre of the Spin. Patron of all things "Whoopie". Warden of the Whammys. Gene Rayburn re-incarnate.

Game shows that feature celebrity guests were the cream of the crop back in the day and nothing, but nothing, touched the glory that was Match Game. Re-invented each January by appending the last two digits of the current year preceded by an apostrophe, as in '73, Match Game showcased some of the hottest talent around, all comic foils for our jovial host. Debralee Scott, Brett Somers, Charles Nelson Reilly. In fact, Match Game featured a parade of stars, unsurpassed in the annals of television.

Much like the 70's, diaryland is chock full of major stars, bit players, ingenues, overnight sensations, comic geniuses and shy recluses. Unlike the 70's, there has been no one asking you to fill in the blanks. Until now.

So, i repeat, In The Land Of Diaries, (blank) Reigns Supreme?
