Trying To Catch Your Heart Is Like...
2005-04-21

so i slept through the night last night. this is a major victory. i've been waking up between two and three every night, except for last saturday when i didn't go to bed until 7, which i'm sure didn't help my bout with jet lag. plus it is absolutely gorgeous outside and i have been availing myself as much as possible, which led to some dozing during the daytime.

i've bought so much music in the last several weeks that i don't even know where to begin. i've decided to pick a record each day and listen two times through. to give it a fair shake. yesterday was fischerspooner's odyssey. as much as i hate to admit it, as much as i agree with the sentiment expressed in never win ("if i was not me, i would hate me too, just like you do"), it is damn good. today is new order's waiting for the siren's call. starts slow, but once krafty kicks in, it is absolutely fantastic. way better than i expected.

going to see stars at southpaw next saturday. totally excited. decided that i do not see enough live music. in fact, decided while i was away that i don't take advantage of what this city has to offer enough. what is the point of living in new york city, if i live my life like i live in the suburbs, right? dine in brooklyn, which ended yesterday (thank god, made it difficult just to eat in the neighborhood last weekend), got me to thinking that i need to shake up my eating out.

just saw an army reserve commercial that made me embarrased to be an american. ugh.

today's excitement is laundry. can you dig it? maybe i'll do some shopping later. or go to the gym since i haven't been in almost a month. i need a bike. since the weather has finally improved, i want to jet around town. right?

ok, so if mylo's in my arms wasn't enough of boy meets girl's waiting for a star to fall, you've got not one but two new tracks sampling it out now. cabin crew's star to fall and sunset stripper's falling stars. which pretty much sound the same, though i think i prefer the former, which was not coincidentally the less successful of the two, chartwise, that is. more choppy and sampled, less cover.

oh and i got my official score. 5 on the writing section. alright.

enough blather for now.
