Change Of Heart
2005-03-24

so, i'm in the best mood since, like, i can remember. yes, i just got back from the gym and yes, i just got my wig trimmed and yes, i checked out the new whole foods at union square and yes, i found myself smiling at kids in the street and yes, i found myself saying thank you at my local haunts and meaning it.

i've been fairly stressed about taking this damn test. taking practice tests and keep making silly arithmetic errors, or work out the problem correctly and still choose the wrong answer. silly things. for some reason, though, i've managed to let go of it. hopefully, i can stay in that frame of mind.

can't believe that i'm going halfway around the world in just 9 days. the whole 'they speak japanese' thing is sort of daunting. i've been reading about tokyo, trying to make some sense of it and put together a plan of attack. can't make heads or tails of it. figure i'm just gonna have to completely wing it. never my strong suit. but we are staying at the park hyatt, so at least our base of operations will be comfortable and somewhat familiar. i just hope sausalito is playing in the new york bar.

sydney is much less daunting. they speak english. and it's gonna be warm. and aussie hospitality is legendary.

bummed that i missed mylo, the scottish royksopp last night at rothko. keep meaning to go there. but did listen to the record at the gym. soooo good. had forgotten just how good. think that may have had something to do with my change of heart.

oh, and an errata. "back to basics" actually squeaked into the uk top ten, debuting at number 10 last sunday.
