Yum Yum Jet Lag

just realized that i haven't showered since wednesday morning and for those of you keeping score, that would be tuesday night round these parts. oh, i'm home. so, yeah, three days ago. not that i was doing much strenuous. well, there was the afternoon on the beach in manly AND the afternoon racing around tokyo shopping.

finally crashed out around 3am yesterday, to awaken at 4:30 in the afternoon today. guess i'm primed for new york party time. up all night, sleep all day. needless to say, i'm a tad disoriented. sort of bummed to be back right now.

can't quite find the words to describe my trip, especially sydney. i'll try, though. sydney is the most spectacularly beautiful city i've ever seen. i've been to more exquisite places, but definitely the most breathtaking urban area anywhere on the planet. early autumn morning at circular quay with the harbour bridge to your left and the opera house to your right, the harbour glittering all around you. tears to the eyes, quite literally. someone once described sydney as london with the climate of san diego. except for bits of colonial hangover, there ain't nothing london about sydney. imagine san diego (weather), san francisco (hills) and seattle (harbour) smushed into one city. that might give just an inkling.

funny, only happens to me, story: so arrive sydney early friday morning. customs agent who checks me in, checks me out. wink wink. next night, out and about, guy walks up to me and asks if i just arrived in the country yesterday morning. i answer yes and he replies that he processed me in. which of course he had. too funny. ended up hanging out a bit. best of all, provided a VIP escort through the airport on my way out. no queues for this unknown-in-australia, up-and-coming young american actor. what a hoot.

huge in the clubs over all australia is a remix of midnight star's midas touch. since i didn't manage to pick it up there, which was just silly, i limewired it and have been grooving on it since then, but five star's all fall down popped up, which led me to can't wait another minute and if i say yes. so in the immortal words of five star, with regards to sydney, if love is the question, the answer is yes.

much more later.
